Jana & Emilia Fashion Design Studio piece together warmth and style for Fall/Winter 2014
Collection to be launched at Ottawa Fashion Week
OTTAWA – Warmth and style are two things that don’t often go hand-in-hand during frigid, unpredictable Canadian winters, but local designers Jana Hanzel and Emilia Torabi are making the coveted more accessible with their Fall/Winter 2014 collection, Tessellation.
This season, the wearer of a Jana & Emilia piece embodies effortless sophistication and elegance. Juxtaposed patterns, colours, and fabrics create a mosaic effect reflected in printed silk, knit, and wool outfits for women, cotton shirts for men and richly textured jackets and coats for both genders. These timeless designs are sprinkled with brocade, matelassé, and leather. Tessellation is a medley of warm browns, cool greys and the occasional pop of colour. The collection reflects true originality with unexpected accents and asymmetrical geometry.
The collection will be presented on Friday, February 7 at 8 p.m. at the Hilton Lac Leamy as part of Ottawa Fashion Week. Tickets are available at http://ottawafashionweek.ca/tickets/.
